Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is a key part of the Code of Professional Conduct for Financial Advice Services and will assume greater importance for the entire financial services industry in 2023.

The Strategi team is currently building an industry wide CPD framework for Financial Advice Providers (FAPs) and advisers and the ‘CPD pathway for 2023’ will be published in late January 2023. This guidance note will:

• Explain the new CPD regime and what is expected by both FAPs and advisers.
• Include core training modules for everyone plus specific professional development plans for each role e.g., advisers, compliance officers, business owners/directors and support staff.
• A list of new training modules with increased interactivity.
• Innovative ideas on what constitutes CPD.
• Guidance on how much CPD needs to be undertaken in any one year.
