The Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act 2009 (AML/CFT Act) sets up the AML/CFT framework in New Zealand. Alongside the Act are six sets of supporting regulations that relate to its application. 

The Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act 2009 (AML/CFT Act) sets up the AML/CFT framework in New Zealand. Alongside the Act are six sets of supporting regulations that relate to its application. New Zealand’s AML/CFT system is intended to adapt as money laundering (ML) and terrorism financing (FT) risks evolve. On 9 July 2021, new amendment regulations became effective and amended four of the six regulations.
