Is your AML supervisor changing to DIA? View the transition checklist.

With the Single Supervisor Transition (SST) taking effect on 1 July 2026, many reporting entities are discovering that preparation involves more than they expected. The transition is not just about which regulator you report to — it affects your AML/CFT programme documentation, your reporting processes, your training records, and potentially your audit timeline.

What actually changes on 1 July

The DIA becomes the sole supervisor. This means changes to reporting requirements, guidance updates, and audit expectations. What this means in practice for reporting, guidance, and audits needs to be understood across your organisation.

Your SST checklist

  • Review your AML/CFT programme for references to your current supervisor — update where needed.
  • Check your reporting processes — ensure SAR and PTR processes align with DIA requirements.
  • Update staff training — your team needs to know who the supervisor is and what has changed.
  • Review your audit timeline — understand whether the transition affects your next audit date.
  • Check your policies and procedures — ensure they reference current legislation and supervisory arrangements.
  • Review your identity verification procedures — the new Identity Verification Code of Practice 2026 replaces the 2013 code from 1 July; check that your CDD processes align with the new verification pathways.
  • Communicate with your board or senior management — ensure governance bodies are aware of the change.

What happens if you are not ready

Businesses that enter the new supervisory structure with outdated programmes risk being assessed against expectations they have not prepared for. This can lead to findings during audits or supervisory reviews when remediation is most costly.

If your business needs support reviewing its programme before 1 July, Strategi can help. Our AML/CFT compliance reviews are designed to identify gaps and help businesses prepare efficiently — whether that means a full programme review or targeted support on specific areas.

Don’t wait until 1 July to find the gaps. Book an AML/CFT compliance review with Strategi today and enter the new supervisory structure with confidence.
